Intro to Blown Glass: Halloween! Saturday, October 26th 10am-1pm
In this 3-hour class, students will learn how to safely use a torch to melt and blow COE 33 borosilicate glass rods and tubes to create small glass items. Learn to melt and gather glass to create a small orb, then move into working with tubes of glass to make a blown glass ghost and pumpkin! Participants can expect to go home with the items they create, or choose to have them annealed (stabilized in the kiln) after class for pickup at a later date.
All tools, glass, and safety equipment provided. Please wear long hair tied back, closed toe shoes, and avoid baggy sleeves. Be sure to bring water to stay hydrated, and paper and writing utensil if you'd like to take notes.
